As a legal firm, cybersecurity is crucial for keeping their clients’ personal information secure. Mindes needed an IT company that could service all their IT and cybersecurity needs.

Solution.

We have managed Mindes’ entire IT infrastructure for almost 20 years. We are currently preparing to install a new server running Microsoft Remote Desktop Services to facilitate Mindes’ move to a hybrid work environment with staff members working from home. Remote desktop services enable businesses to store their company data and desktops in the cloud or locally on the premises.

Challenge.
ASA Accountants Inc needed an IT company that would offer them great service, value for money and reliability, something they hadn’t experienced with previous IT support contracts. In addition, they wanted to move from Telkom to a more reliable phone service.

Solution.
We advised that ASA Accountants move their phone services from Telkom to VoIP for added security and reliability. We also migrated them to Microsoft 365 and set up cybersecurity measures, which included virus protection and firewalls. We helped take their business from working in an office environment on a physical file server to being able to work remotely from home off the cloud via SharePoint (Office 365 integration). At the start of lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to assist ASA by working via Remote Desktop and connecting to the office with no negative effects to their clients.

Results.
ASA Accountants have been a client with us for the last five years. At the start of lockdown, we set up SharePoint remotely and were able to equip them with the right software and tools to work effectively from home.

Vitria Glassware supplies imported glassware and manufactures hand-cut crystal drinking glasses. They also specialise in decorative glassware for promotional purposes.

Challenge.
Hilton Smith, CEO of Vitria Glassware, was frustrated with the lack of support from their VoIP telephony supplier. They had two service providers, one firm supplied their ICT support and maintenance, while the other handled VoIP. This was not an ideal situation and they were often unsure who to call first when there was an issue. As a result, this began to impact their business.

Solution.
Smith approached us for assistance. We agreed to take over the ICT and 3CX VoIP support and maintenance and arranged meetings with the outgoing firms to ensure an orderly takeover.

Results.
Five years later, Vitria is still a client. In addition to handling their ICT and 3CX VoIP services, we have helped improve their cybersecurity by installing Sophos Security products, which we continually monitor.

Challenge.
DSC Attorneys needed an IT company that could service all their IT and cybersecurity needs.

Solution.
Currently DSC Attorneys has 50 computers, which are each equipped with a SSD to improve performance. All users have Microsoft 365 Business Standard, allowing them the ability to work remotely using collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Teams, secure cloud storage, business email, and premium Office applications across all their devices.

Their on-site server is equipped with a next-generation firewall, which has Unified Threat Management that provides multi-layered security. Synchronised security continually communicates with their endpoints, network, mobiles, Wi-Fi, email and encryption products, all sharing information in real time and responding automatically to incidents to:

  • Isolate infected endpoints, blocking lateral movement
  • Restrict Wi-Fi for non-compliant mobile devices
  • Scan endpoints on detection of compromised mailboxes
  • Revoke encryption keys if a threat is detected
  • Identify all apps on the network

Results.
We have provided DSC Attorneys with ICT services and support for more than 20 years. Michele De Jager, office manager at DSC Attorneys, said they adopted a uniform approach based on our recommendations and, as always, it proved to be good advice. As all systems are controlled through the Sophos Central cloud-based security platform, management is effortless and secure. Challenge.
The Grove needed a complete upgrade to their network infrastructure. They were also interested in converting to a VoIP solution.

Solution.
We started working with The Grove in January 2020 and our first project was to upgrade their entire network infrastructure. We were able to do this with minimal disruption to the learners and staff. Next, we needed to move them to VoIP, which was done without any issues or telephonic downtime.

Results.
Since taking The Grove on as a client, we have provided them with thorough training and support on an ongoing basis where needed.
